This just in: Weird Wednesday, August 15, 12midnight at the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin…Screening of Girls From Thunder Strip. This is a moonshine-biker flick from years ago starring yours truly as the bad guy (what’s new) and an electic band of semi-luminaries, such as uber-disc-jockey Casey Kasem, Jack Starrett, Lindsay Crosby, Jody McCrea, et al. Gary Graver is the director of photography and also appears in a cameo role. Shot on the Spahn Ranch, where Charley Manson and the Creepy Crawlies were hanging out and stealing our box lunches, the film is a resonation of the early 70s and the weird scene that was playing out in the nearby Hollywood Hills. If you make the screening, I will be there telling tales unfit for the general human ear… See ya’!
